Accessibility
Welcome to Jardin Rouge Festival! It is important to us that you can attend our festival in a safe and comfortable way. To this end, you can find information on accessibility at our festival in these access notes. For any further questions or inquiries contact us at info@snowapple.nl
Location
De Roode Bioscoop can be reached using tram 5, bus 18, 21 and 22 (get off at the ‘Haarlemmerplein’ stop) and by car (exit S103 on the ring road West). The theatre is situated about 25 minutes walking from Amsterdam Central Station. Just follow the Haarlemmerstraat, going into the Haarlemmerdijk, to end up at Haarlemmerplein. The theatre can be found on your left.
If you are coming by car, we suggest using the Willemspoort parking garage, found under the Haarlemmerplein. Use the following address: Haarlemmer Houttuinen 549. At de Roode Bioscoop it is possible to stop in front of the door to drop someone off, but there is no dedicated parking.
Physical Accessibility
Upon entering the venue from outside, there is one small step. Please ask theatre personnel or Snowapple crew to assist. Going from the lobby into the main hall, there is a bigger step. The theatre offers a metal ramp to safely access this space. ‘Stage 2’, built up in the backstage area especially for this festival, and the bathrooms are situated in a slightly lower part of the building, accessible either by using some steps or by taking a route via the outside of the building. Kindly request assistance if you require.
Bathrooms
De Roode Bioscoop has two single stall, gender neutral bathrooms. The bathrooms are not large and may be difficult to access in a wheelchair.
Service Animals
Service animals are allowed, but pets are not allowed.
Language
English is the primary language used during the festival. However, our staff and artists come from many different places in the world and may be able to help with translation needs – just ask us! Many of the shows during the festival are based in physical theatre, mime, and dance and do not require knowledge of a specific language to enjoy.
Affordability
We want the Jardin Rouge Festival to be accessible to as many people as possible. If the cost of attending the festival is a barrier, please let us know and we will work with you to find a solution.
Discrimination
We strive to be conscious actors discussing/addressing issues including social inequality and discrimination based on gender, race, sexual orientation and beliefs. Therefore no discrimination on these bases will be tolerated during the festival. Anyone demonstrating this type of behavior will be asked to leave the festival and their ticket will not be refunded.
Service by request
If you require or would like a particular service that you do not see mentioned, please send us a message at info@snowapple.nl. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.
