Location
Ruigoord is a cultural and artistic community located just west of Amsterdam, in the port area.

By bike
Are you coming from nearby? Take your bike! Cycling is healthy and environmentally friendly. From Station Sloterdijk, there is a beautiful cycling route of about 30 minutes to Ruigoord.

By bus
From Sloterdijk Station, several buses go in the direction of Ruigoord:
With Bus 382, get off at the stop “Ruigoord Dorp” – it’s about a 5-minute walk from there.
With Bus 232, get off at the stop “Ruijgoordweg” – it’s about a 20-minute walk.
Please note: Both buses do not operate at night.

By train
Ruigoord can be reached by train. The largest nearby train station is Sloterdijk, while the closest one is Halfweg-Zwanenburg, which is about a 15-minute bike ride from Ruigoord. From Sloterdijk, you can bike (approx. 30 minutes)
Take a regular bus or use the shuttle bus to Vurige Tongen. Check the NS Travel Planner via www.ns.nl or the NS app for current travel advice.

By Car
If you choose to come by car despite more eco-friendly options, we kindly ask that you carpool as much as possible — it’s more sociable and cost-effective! Also, be aware that it might be busy and you might need to walk a bit from where you park.

Parking
Free parking is available, but parking inside the village is not allowed.
Parking for visitors with disabilities
For people with a disabled parking card, a special MIVA parking space will be available next to the entrance of Ruigoord. Please ask a parking attendant for assistance.

Drop-off / Pick-up by car or taxi (Kiss & Ride)
You can be dropped off right in front of the Ruigoord gate by car.

Physical Accessibility
Ruigoord’s main venue, the church, is wheelchair accessible.
However, many activities take place on a grassy field, and not all areas are accessible via paved paths.

Bathrooms
There are two toilets in the church venue, a disabled-access toilet behind the village house, several toilets next to the barn, and an additional toilet unit on the festival field.

Children
The Vurige Tongen festival is open to all ages. Children under 18 have free entry, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please note: alcohol is only served to visitors aged 18 and older. Supplying alcohol to minors or consumption by those under 18 will result in removal from the premises.

Service Animals
Service dogs are allowed on the premises.

Language
As an international artistic community, both Dutch and English are spoken at Ruigoord.

Discrimination
Ruigoord does not tolerate discriminatory or intimidating behavior.
